Gids tot Grasse van Suider-Afrika is Frits van Oudtshoorn's Afrikaans identification guide to the grasses of southern Africa. This is the second edition in its fourth printing, published by Briza Publikasies in Pretoria in 2006. It is a full-colour guide that describes and illustrates around 300 important species, supported by a user-friendly identification key and a large number of colour photographs.

The guide opens with thirteen introductory chapters on grass topics and uses a set of symbols for quick reference. It closes with a quiz section for testing the reader's knowledge. It was designed to make grass identification accessible to non-specialists.

Frits van Oudtshoorn grew up on a farm in Limpopo and holds a Masters degree in Nature Conservation. He works in agricultural training and veld-management consulting.
