Synopsis & Historical Value

Winning Matters: Being the Best You Can Be, published by Penguin Books in 2011, is the motivational memoir of Sean Fitzpatrick, the former All Blacks captain. It blends autobiography, self-help and business advice, reflecting on key moments in his life and the values and principles that drove him on and off the field.

Fitzpatrick played 128 matches for the All Blacks between 1986 and 1997, 92 of them tests, and a record 51 as captain. The book draws on that experience to offer lessons on leadership, standards and performance, aimed at readers well beyond the rugby field.

A collectible used copy for those who follow New Zealand and South African rugby, or who collect sporting memoir and leadership literature.
