Author Profile: Ian V. Hogg

Ian V. Hogg (1926-2002) was a British military author and historian who wrote, co-wrote or edited about 150 books, selling over one million copies. His first books appeared in the late 1960s while he was still a military instructor, and after leaving the military he worked full-time as a writer on weapons and military history.

His other notable works include Military Small Arms of the 20th Century, The Illustrated Encyclopedia of Firearms and Twentieth-Century Artillery. He also collaborated with the illustrator John Batchelor on cutaway diagrams.
