Synopsis & Historical Value

Kuifie en die Pikaro's is the Afrikaans edition of Hergé's Tintin et les Picaros, part of the Afrikaans series Die Avonture van Kuifie published by Human & Rousseau. Kuifie once more finds himself in San Theodoros, this time to save his reputation and restore his good name.

Together with Kaptein Haddock and Professor Archimedes, he is drawn into political intrigue in a South American country, with a coup, jungle travel and the carnival Pikaros.

The album is the last Tintin adventure Hergé completed. It ran in Tintin magazine from September 1975 to April 1976 and appeared as a collected volume from Casterman in 1976. The Afrikaans series began in 1973, and this paperback edition carries the translation of Sonya van Schalkwyk.

A large-format, full-colour album, offered as a used collectible copy for Tintin collectors and readers of Afrikaans comics.
