Jan Vermeiren has become one of South Africa's foremost artists since settling in Cape Town in the early seventies. This book, published to coincide with the artist's 50th birthday, is illustrated with over 70 full-colour reproductions of paintings and graphic work. Biographical information is supported with numerous photographs of the artist and his family, colleagues and friends. There are lists of exhibitions, and cover design work for numerous South African authors and publications, by the artist. The Dutch translation of André Brink's text is by Rob van der Veer for Belgian publishing house, Lannoo.
