Katharine Holabird, born in 1948, is best known as the author of the Angelina Ballerina series, illustrated by Helen Craig. The first book appeared in 1983 and was followed a year later by Angelina and the Princess. She is also the author of the Twinkle series.
Her work has received recognition in the United States, including the Kentucky Bluegrass Award for Angelina Ballerina. Helen Craig, who illustrated the original books, has illustrated more than sixty books for children.
