Vir Vryheid en vir Reg by General J.C.G Kemp( Afrikaans edition)

Hardcover
Publisher: Nasionale Pers Beperk, 1942

Condition: Good. The boards have wear,  and some markings on the face and spine. The pages are clear and clean. Overall a good book.(See pics)

Any edition of this book - one of the publisher's "Ons Geskiedenis-Serie" - "Our History Series" - is now rare. The writer of the foreword noted that the author's military and political roles were well known but that he had now successfully ventured into the spheres of history and autobiograpy.

The book's main coverage extends from the Great Trek of the 1830s to the conclusion of the second Anglo-Boer War 1899-1902, in which General Kemp was an active participant.

476 pages (complete). In Afrikaans throughout. A sturdy copy of this memoir that reveals the experiences and thinking behind the Anglo-Boer war general and later unswerving stalwart of the Nationalist (apartheid) party.
