Colonel Stevenson-Hamilton was the first, the most-famous and the longest-serving warden of the Kruger National Park, having seen it grow from the Sabi Game Reserve
The dedication to his book reads:
"To Cinderella
"Who Became a Princess"
Two-colour dustjacket with animal design and lettering to the front and text on the front flap and the back; red cloth-boards with black lettering to the spine; the same 2-colour map of the Kruger on both endpapers, 311 pp of prelims and text illustrated with 26 inserted captioned half-tone photographs on gloss paper, and a 10-page index
This first edition with a good DJ intact, are rare, especially in the condition of the one with this copy.
The dustjacket is complete, now protected with a fresh Cellophane sleeve are lightly edge-chipped; the boards have some slight discolouration at the head and foot on the panels and next to the spine (see image); the endpaper maps are sunned in register with the dustjacket flaps
The copy is in near very good condition overall: tightly bound and with complete, unmarked and undiscoloured contents - except as noted in the previous paragraph
