Synopsis & Historical Value

Weapons of the Gulf War, published in London by Bison Books in 1991, is an illustrated survey of the weaponry used in the conflict that followed Iraq's invasion of Kuwait. It was produced quickly in the wake of the war and captures how the campaign was understood at the time.

The book covers aircraft and air-launched weapons, missiles, tanks and ships, illustrated with many colour photographs and cutaway drawings, among them a cutaway of the F/A-18 Hornet. An introduction looks at how the arms came to be supplied to Iraq.

It was written by a team of specialist authors in the field of arms and naval history, and offers a useful period record of the military hardware of the early 1990s. A clean, jacketed copy of interest to collectors of modern militaria and late twentieth-century conflict.
