Synopsis & Historical Value

Traditional Cape Malay Cooking gathers more than 200 recipes from one of South Africa's best-loved culinary traditions. It covers soups, fish, poultry and meat, curries and bredies, rice, vegetables, sambals and atjars, desserts and baking, and includes a section on cooking in bulk for large gatherings and community functions.

The book is a reissue of the author's earlier title, Everyday Cape Malay Cooking, now illustrated with full-colour photographs. It is written for beginners and experienced cooks alike, and presents the cuisine as part of the Cape's living culinary heritage.

A useful, handsomely illustrated kitchen reference and a good copy for collectors of South African cookery and Cape heritage.
