"Creighton analyses Southern Rhodesian culture, particularly as it affects the lives of Africans and the relations between Africans and Europeans, and relates it to the structure and problems of the Federation as a whole."

This evaluation of the proposed Federation of Rhodesia and Nyasaland, was written a few years before it became a political entity. Southern Rhodesia would be the dominant partner, and the author examines the culture and attitudes of the country. In modern terms this analysis was to do with Zambia, Zimbabwe and Malawi, and continuing White interests in this countries.
