Thank God We Kept The Flag Flying: The Siege And Relief Of Ladysmith 1899-1900 by Kenneth Griffith has revealed, through the words of men that were there, a very personal yet totally authentic vision of the Boer War. Kenneth Griffith's twenty-year fascination with imperial history has already produced controversial documentaries on Cecil Rhodes and the Boer War. The title comes from the words of Sir George White on his relief. Some of those included are still alive, and have spoken directly to the author.
- The author was a well-known London actor in the 1960s and was also perhaps the leading authority of his day on the Siege of Ladysmith [own knowledge]
- Cartoon frontispiece with Paul Kruger as a bull tossing the British lion into the air, and other cartoons illustrated later in the book; also an illustration of a siege letter
