Synopsis & Historical Value
History of the Pretoria Country Club 1909-1975 is a club history by C. F. Odell, tracing the life of the Pretoria Country Club from its early years through to 1975.
The Pretoria Country Club grew from a site associated with Julius Jeppe's shooting lodge into a long-established centre for croquet, shooting, fishing, squash, tennis, bowls and golf. A history of this kind preserves the social fabric of the Transvaal capital, recording the people, the grounds and the clubhouse as they developed over some six decades.
The jacket carries a vintage photographic view of the clubhouse and course. A useful reference for those interested in Pretoria's social history, South African sporting clubs and golf history, and a collectible local-history title.
