I first arrived in Hermanus in June 2004 and immediately got caught up in the hype of the arrival of the Southern Right Whales.
I never imagined in the coming months and years I would accumulate over 50 000 photographs of this single Species of Whale, let alone bring out a book that was dedicated to them.
It was difficult to stay away from the Whales, and every opportunity I got - irrespective of the weather conditions - I would photographed my Whales.
This became a full-time passion that never waned, as with every shoot I strived for even better shots.
That such a big, slow-moving mammal can interact in so many different ways makes for photographic brilliance.
