Condition: Very good +. The original musterd colour boards with brown image and lettering are in a very good condition and only very slightly shelf rubbed. The book pages are clean, intact and the spine remains undamaged. This book has clearly been well maintained and looked after thus far.

Erich Mayer was a South African artist who was born in 1876.
Erich Mayer trained as an architect in Berlin, Germany, and came to South Africa in 1898 to work as a land surveyor in the Free State. He joined the Boer commandos during the South African War (1899–1902) and spent time as a Prisoner of War on St Helena.
Erich Mayer's work has been offered at auction multiple times, with realized prices ranging from $47 USD to $28,722 USD, depending on the size and medium of the artwork. Since 2007 the record price for this artist at auction is $28,722 USD for An Extensive Landscape with a Baobab and a Crouching Man, sold at Strauss & Co., Johannesburg in 2011.
The artist died in 1960.
