Peter Bamm was the pseudonym of Curt Emmrich, a German surgeon, journalist, and author known for his books about his experiences as a military doctor on the Eastern Front during World War II and his later travels. His most famous work is Die unsichtbare Flagge (The Invisible Flag), a memoir of his time as a Wehrmacht combat surgeon treating wounded soldiers, prisoners, and civilians. 
Medical Career: He was a surgeon who studied medicine at several German universities after volunteering for service in World War I.
World War II: He served as a military doctor on the Eastern Front and chronicled his experiences in The Invisible Flag, a book that focuses on the humanity of a doctor amid the chaos of war.
Post-War Career: After the war, he traveled extensively in the Near and Middle East and wrote about his experiences as a journalist and author of travel books and historical works.
Notable Works: Besides The Invisible Flag, other works include Early Sites of Christianity and Alexander, or The Transformation of the World.
