Synopsis & Historical Value

Battle for Victory: Men and Machines of World War II is a lavishly illustrated overview of the Second World War, written by Karen Farrington and published in 1995. It follows the conflict through the people who fought it and the equipment they relied on.

The book is organised in three parts: the soldier's war on land, the war at sea, and the battle for the skies. Narrative history is combined with first-hand testimony from those who served, and is supported by period photographs, maps and fact panels that explain the weapons, vehicles and campaigns.

A handsome, heavily illustrated volume for the military history shelf, offered as a clean used collectible copy in its original dust jacket.
