Synopsis & Historical Value

Atlas of Warfare is a large illustrated survey of warfare from ancient times to the modern era. It uses maps, battle diagrams and pictures to trace wars and campaigns across the centuries, from the English Civil War to the world wars of the twentieth century.

The chapters move from the ancient world through chivalry, professional armies and the Napoleonic era to total war, both world wars and conflict in the modern world. Richard Natkiel is credited as map designer and cartographer, with John Pimlott as consulting editor.

A handsome, well-illustrated reference for readers of military history, battles and strategy, and a useful companion to any militaria shelf.
