Synopsis & Historical Value
This critical historical text charts the twilight years of Ian Smith’s rebel government following the Unilateral Declaration of Independence (UDI). Named ironically after Smith's claim that majority rule would not arrive in "a thousand years," Moorcroft provides a gritty, objective view of the counter-insurgency battles, political maneuvers, and the final transition agreements.
