Used - Very Good. This book is in very good condition. The wraps have some slight/limited signs of wear and the pages are clean, intact and the spine remains undamaged. This book has clearly been well maintained and looked after thus far.
It looks at the 80's arms race from that perspective, saying, as most books from the period did, that the buildup was both irrational and too expensive. Many of the arguments made here have since been shown to be wrong. for instance, the arms race never came close to hurting our economy, which actually prospered in the 80's and outperformed the 70's. As it turned out, it was the Soviets who could not afford the buildup. But Zuckerman was certainly correct to point out that we had more weapons than needed. We would have to wait a decade before the numbers could be reduced.
