Author Profile: Dr S. Henri Pellissier
Dr S. Henri Pellissier (1887–1978) was a visionary South African educator and cultural pioneer who founded the Volkspele movement in 1912 after studying folk traditions in Sweden. As a leading figure in the Reddingsdaadbond and Director of Education in the Orange Free State, Pellissier used traditional dance to help rebuild social unity and community pride after the Anglo-Boer War. This volume reflects his life's work, compiled by his successors to preserve his cultural legacy.
