Synopsis & Historical Value
George: The Gateway to The Garden Route is a lavishly illustrated, photo-led portrait of the city of George in the Western Cape. The book surveys the city's history, tourism, natural environment, infrastructure, education, spatial planning and economic opportunities.
Produced as a promotional showcase, it carries the municipal logo and the motto 'The City for All Reasons' on the back cover, and pairs full-page aerial photography with structured sections for investors, residents and visitors.
It makes a pleasing regional keepsake for collectors of Western Cape and Garden Route material. This copy also carries a warm Afrikaans family inscription from 2016.
