In fair/good condition. Limited edition No 625 of 625, introduction by D. Killick, color landscape, 8 pp text by Bird, 14 full color illustrations with text by Bird.
The still fresh Emerald Green boards with gilt lettering and motive on face and spine is covered with a good DJ now protected with a fresh Cellophane sleeve. The DJ has limited edge wear and tear but is still good.
The first pages have slight foxing and a slight water stain on the top of the pages.(See pics). This stain does not reduce the beauty of the illustrations but the book is priced accordingly.
Arabella Elizabeth Roupell was an English flower painter, noted for an anonymous set of flower paintings published in 1849 under the title 'Specimens of the flora of South Africa by a Lady
This is really a revised edition of More Cape Flowers, having an extra Introduction and 2 extra full color illustrations.
Six unpaginated text pages by Allan Bird followed by twelve reproductions of Roupell’s watercolor illustrations of Cape flowers with descriptive text to left leaf and illustration to right- blank pages follow to next set of text and illustration.
