This Very good copy of this authoritative book on the flora of Table Mountain - written primarily for lay enthusiasts by a dedicated amateur: Peter Jackson was a professor of medicine but wrote with a background of almost 30 years of climbing, walking and photography on the mountain - is marred only by the dustjacket, whose condition is slightly less than very good as it has age/handling related wear. The book is now covered with a fresh Cellophane sleeve.
The green printed end-papers carry a reverse map of the mountain on both free leaves. The book's 120 pp of text, appendixes and index, printed on matt art, are profusely illustrated with some 170 of the author's own colour photographs.
The foreword was contributed by the noted botanist and Kirstenbosch director Brian Rycroft, and the author acknowledges the wide assistance he received from a host of botanists and professionals in other sciences.
