It's an adequate book on the evolution of aerial warfare from the early 20th century through the 1970s. The book was published in 1979 so it obviously excludes anything from the past 40 years. There is a good discussion of gun armament, gunsights, and turrets over the decades. Short chapters are devoted to tactical and strategic air power in WW II. Another chapter discusses the evolution of air tactics and maneuver starting with WW I. A chapter on "modern air warfare" describes the jet age of the 1950s and 1960s. Finally, there is a chapter on the evolution of anti-aircraft artillery and surface-to-air missiles.
