In prose, poetry and photographs, this book relates the lives of many of the children who were in concentration camps during the Anglo-Boer War. The main text and photographic sections are followed by a 14-page alphabetical roll of honour and some 600 portraits of survivors in their old age.

Contains short reminiscences of camp life during the Anglo-Boer War as seen through the eyes the children as well as photographs of daily life in the camps. Contains a roll of honour of camp children who were still alive at the time of publication (1982) as well as those who were never caught and taken to camps.
