Excellent autobiography by one of the greatest actors of the 20th Century. Laurence was aware of his unique talents from an early age. So was his father, who instantly knew that his son would become an actor. Laurence has become a good Shakespearean actor, and then covered Hollywood in its early, but glamourous era. Although not hurt by being overly modest, Mr Olivier was a rather modest human being at heart, measuring himself against the eternity, represented by the output of his one and only hegemon, William Shakespeare. He was a joyful and even fortunate individual, who spent his lifetime mastering his craft and trying to instill the love of it to the future generations, thereof. This book is on his acting style.
