- Steyn's massive biography is one of the best in Afrikaans, according to publisher and writer J J Human. Steyn's other books include a biography of Piet Cillie, the best-known editor of Die Burger, and, in 2008, a collection to mark the centenary of another leading Afrikaans writer, known by her initials as M E R[othman].
