This is truly an exceptional book. I thought the book was an overview of naval operations where South Africans were involved, but it was much more. It gives the history of the birth of the South African Navy and then gives mostly personal accounts of the men from South Africa and the ships they sailed in, be it as part of the SAN or when seconded to the RN. The accounts are also from all different theatres of the war, and many ships are covered, be the big or small. Amazing book and I highly recommend it to any Royal Navy enthusiast.
