This book, the first detailed guide to these sanctuaries is long overdue. There are no doubt, several reasons why a book of this nature has not yet been published. The main one is that many different bodies control these sanctuaries. In South Africa alone, different game sanctuaries are administered by private municipal, divisional, provincial and national bodies. there is a guide to the animals found in the sanctuaries discussed in this book.
