A good and very detailed book about South Africa's contribution of the UN cause in the Korean War. It follows 2 Squadron SAAF from it's departure for Korea first flying P-51 Mustangs and ending with them converting to the F-86 Sabre jet fighter and fighting till the armistice. Although the contribution of only one squadron may seem small, they did disproportionate work fighting alongside USAF units in the 18th Fighter-Bomber Wing and did immense damage to Communist forces in the area of operations. The book details all squadron operations and losses during the conflict, where they ended up with a US and Korean Presidential Unit Citation along with many US bravery awards. This book is also significant as this deployment was the backbone for the forming of the modern SAAF and taking it into the jet age. The last chapter is a great bonus as it is filled with some of the pilots' personal stories during the conflict.
