It is presented as the true story of the last battle for Baghdad, told through the eyes of an infantry soldier.

The author is candid that he covers one unit at squad level rather than the whole battle. He writes to ensure the heroism and sacrifice of the men beside him are remembered, and he praises them as modern-day pioneers in warfare.

As a veteran's memoir of a hard-fought urban engagement in the Iraq War, it will interest collectors of modern military memoir and readers studying the soldier's-eye view of the Baghdad campaign.

Author Profile: Anthony S Farina

Staff Sergeant Anthony Farina served two tours in Iraq during the War on Terror.
